Take a scenic drive through the vineyards and green forests of the Beaujolais region on this private driving tour.

Beaujolais is a French Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée wine from the Burgundy region. This private driving tour gives you the opportunity to discover the vineyards and wine villages responsible for producing this glorious wine.

Your tour will start with a scenic drive through the vineyards to a charming farm in the middle of the green Beaujolais forest. At the farm, you will have the opportunity to try a selection of locally made goats cheese before the tour continues to a quaint Beaujolais winery. Here, you will enjoy a tour of the estate and lunch featuring the locally made wines. You will then be invited to take an afternoon walk to enjoy a panoramic view from Mont Brouilly and learn more about the UNESCO-classified geology of Beaujolais. The tour concludes with a visit to another local family estate for a second wine tasting.

This tour is available in a half-day (4 hour) or full-day (8 hour) format.

About Burgundy and Beaujolais

Burgundy is a region of France renowned for its gastronomy. It has an intriguing historical past, as you can find at Alesia, where the great battle between Julius Caesar and Vercingetorix took place. You can also visit many palaces, castles and cathedrals that speak to Burgundy’s rich past. Popular destinations include Châlon-Sur-Saône, where you can discover the Museum of Photography, Dijon, Auxerre, Beaune and Cluny.

Beaujolais is a province of Burgundy that is most famous as a wine-producing region. It produces Beaujolais wine, which is mostly made from Gamay grapes, and the region is particularly pretty due to its lush green forests.
