This private city tour of Bordeaux lets you discover this charming city through the eyes of a local, giving you the chance to discover the famous sights and lesser-known attractions.

This walking tour begins with the Cathedral, which dates to the 12th century and is a testament to the history of Bordeaux. You will also have a chance to learn more about the 15th-century belfry, which sits next to the Cathedral. The tour then moves on to see some of the charming sights of Bordeaux, including the church at Place Saint-Projet, Place Camille Jullian, the medieval gateway of Porte Cailhau and the historic port.

As a finale to your day, your private guide will take you to Place de la Bourse to marvel at its famous water mirror, as well as Monument aux Girondins and the Grand Theater.

About Bordeaux

Bordeaux is a city in the southwest of France that is most famous for its wine and gastronomy. Meet your guide

You will meet your guide near the Statue of Jacques Chaban Delmas. This tour lasts between 2 and 3 hours.

The Cathedral

Your tour begins with Place Pey Berland, where you can see St Andre Cathedral. This glorious Catholic church was built between the 12th and 14th centuries and is the most beautiful religious building in Bordeaux. Your guide will also tell you all about the Pey-Berland belfry, which sits next to the Cathedral (although it was built separately in the 15th century).

Saint Projet Church and Utopia

On your way to Place Camille Jullian to see the famous Utopia building, you will stop at Saint Projet Church, which was built during the Middle Ages and has a partially intact bell tower.

Porte Cailhau

From Place Camille Jullian, you will walk to Porte Cailhau, which is a medieval gateway, constructed in 1495. It played a key role in the history of Bordeaux, which your guide will explain to you as you admire the structure.

Eglise St Pierre

There will be a brief stop at Eglise St Pierre, which is Bordeaux's first port (dating to the 12th century).

Place de la Bourse

The finale of your tour will be in Place de la Bourse. This is surely the most famous and magnificent attraction of Bordeaux! It is an 18th century neo-classical square that has a magical water mirror, as well as plenty of monuments to enjoy. As a part of your experience, your guide will show you Monument aux Girondins and the Grand Theater.
