About Split
Split is the second-largest city in Croatia and a true jewel of nature and culture. Thanks to its location on the coast of the Adriatic Sea, it has a number of pretty beaches and sea caves to explore, and is the ideal base from which to enjoy an island-hopping boat trip.
Aside from the coastal attractions, Split has plenty of cultural points-of-interest to enjoy on a walking tour. The most beautiful monument of the city is Diocletian Palace, which is one of the best-preserved Roman palaces in Europe and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Other gems are the Saint Domnius Cathedral and its bell tower, Marjan Park, the Ivan Meštrović Gallery, the Split Archaeological Museum and the City Museum.
