About Rhodes
Rhodes is the largest of the Dodecanese islands of Greece and, historically, was the home of the famous Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. This statue of the Greek sun-god Helios, which was erected in 280 BC, is thought to have been destroyed in 653 when Rhodes was conquered.
The medieval old town of the city of Rhodes is a World Heritage Site and, today, it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe. The Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes and the Archaeological Museum of Rhodes are key must-sees.
For those travelling with children, there is also a water park and a petting zoo (Farma of Rhodes).
