About Oxford
Oxford is a city in England known for its prestigious university, which is the oldest in England. Many famous people have attended the university, including Stephen Hawking and Oscar Wilde, and some of the university buildings have been used for filming. As an example, the Bodleian Library served as a location for the Harry Potter films.
Of the university buildings, one of the most incredible is Christ Church College, especially its dining room. Sheldonian Theatre is also magnificent and is where the Oxford University graduation ceremonies take place.
There is plenty more in Oxford to discover, aside from the university. Oxford Castle is a popular attraction – although it dates back to medieval times, it served as a prison from the 18th to the 20th century and explores 1000 years of Oxford’s history. The Ashmolean Museum on Beaumont Street is also very interesting, as is the university’s Museum of Natural History.
