About Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik is a historic city situated on the Adriatic Sea in Croatia that is famous as the backdrop of the Game of Thrones series. It is renowned for its Old Town, which is encircled by historic walls that date to the 16th century. Much of its older architecture is remarkably well preserved, with must-sees including the Lovrijenac Fortress, located to the west of the walls, and St Lovro Chapel. It also has several intriguing religious buildings, such as the famous Cathedral of the Assumption, the Franciscan Monastery and the Dominican Monastery.
One of the most beautiful monuments in the city is Rector’s Palace, which testifies to the city’s political past and today houses a museum of natural history. There’s also Stradun, which is the most touristic street in the city with its many cafés, restaurants and shops. And we also recommend taking a trip to Mount Srd to enjoy a panorama over the whole city, the Adriatic Sea and the island of Lokrum.
