About Dublin
Dublin, the capital of Ireland, has been voted the friendliest city in Europe numerous times, and its endless charm continues to attract many visitors from all over the world.
Among the places to visit, Trinity College is one of the most popular. It is the oldest university in Ireland and has an amazing Old Library where the 1,200-year-old Book of Kells is located. Guided and self-guided campus walking tours are available.
There is also the St Patrick’s Cathedral, which is the largest cathedral in Ireland. Founded in 1191, the cathedral hosts a number of public national ceremonies, including Remembrance Day ceremonies. Note that, if you would like to visit inside the cathedral, it is wise to book entry tickets.
Other popular attractions are Dublin Castle and Kilmainham Prison, the latter of which is one of the largest unoccupied jails in Europe. If you are interested in museums, there is the Irish Museum of Modern Art, the Guinness Storehouse and the National Museum of Ireland. Dublin’s parks are also very worth a visit: our favourites are St Stephen’s Green (which is landscaped) and the huge Phoenix Park, where you’ll find Dublin Zoo.
