About Canterbury & Dover
Canterbury is a university town with particularly charming architecture. Popular attractions include the incredible cathedral, St Martin’s Church and St Augustine Abbey, which was created to bury the Anglo-Saxon kings of Kent. There are also plenty of museums to explore. Our favourites are the Canterbury Royal Museum and Art Gallery and the Buffs Regimental Museum.
Dover, meanwhile, is the largest port serving the English Channel and is famous thanks to its impressive white chalk cliffs. It also has a fabulous castle, as well as several attractions that commemorate the two World Wars. Key places to explore are the secret war tunnel, the Queen’s & PWRR Regimental Museum. We also recommend seeing the Roman Painted House and the Pencester Garden.
