About the Amalfi Coast
The Amalfi Coast is a stretch of coastline close to Sorrento in the south of Italy. It is known throughout the world for its beauty and diversity, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The sea view from the cliffs is breath-taking, and the rugged shoreline and small beaches make for a luxurious beach vacation. The coast also boasts some picturesque villages and many choose a deluxe driving tour of the coast to see these charming places. Popular stops include Maiori, Ravello, Positano and, of course, Amalfi itself.
Popular cultural attractions include Villa Rufolo in Ravello, which is a 13th-century villa, the Villa Cimbrone Gardens (also in Ravello) and the glorious cathedral in Amalfi. We also recommend that you stop at one of the pretty coastal bars to sample the local limoncello liqueur, which is made from locally grown lemons.
